Phone companies use monthly interest rates to calculate lump sum distributions. Employees who were pension eligible on 12/31/99 will use the BEST rate from the three rates listed above. All other employees use the BEST rate from the Monthly GATT and 10 Year Bond only. The stated PBGC rate is for lump sums over $25,000. Managers are encouraged to call our office for the Quarterly GATT rate.
